The center

The Centre for Diversity in Global Management at IE was created in September 2002. The Centre's mission is to promote diversity management of gender, culture, personality and age as a competitive advantage in the corporate world, through reflection, creation of knowledge and the dissemination of know-how. The Centre's main aims are: To foster a greater understanding of the demand for and needs of corporate diversity, by analysing the improvement in bottom line results and effectiveness of inclusion policies. To improve diversity in the corporate world by promoting training programmes in management in minority groups both in western companies and developing countries, thus promoting the integration of women into the economic fabric. To generate debate and the exchange of experiences in the field of diversity

Celia de Anca

Dr. Celia de Anca is currently the Director of the Centre for Diversity in Global Management at IE Business School. She has a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Boston), and from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. She holds a degree and PhD from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, with a comparative thesis on Islamic, ethical/ecological investment funds and on the London Market.

Margarita Alonso

Director General of Fundación IE and Professor of IE Center of Diversity.
Doctor Margarita Alonso is an entrepreneur and founder of Driversity, a boutique consulting firm focused in growth, talent and leadership. Until 2016 Director General of Fundación IE and Professor of IE Center of Diversity. She has developed her professional career at IE University always focused in different international areas in Madrid and in New York. Her previous position at IE was Director General of Alumni and Careers. Before, she was professor at Complutense University. She holds a Master in Marketing Management and a PhD by IE University as well as a Human Resources Management Master. She is a Philologist in Modern Languages by Complutense University of Madrid. Margarita is certified in Foundations Management by NYU; in market research, by London School of Economics and she has followed liberal arts studies at Yale University. She is the author of several articles regarding diversity and education in international media. She has also written Best Inclussion Practices, LGBT Diversity (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012). Academic Director of Aequalis 2015 and 2016. She was co-founder and member of ieOut and Friends and has been member of the IE University Executive Committee from 2005 to 2012. She can speak fluent English and Spanish and also basic French and Russian. She has been awarded Pemio EAT 2015 for Excellence in Diversity Management. Margarita is one of the 2016 Top 100 Mujeres Líderes by Mujeres y Cía in the cluster of “Thinkers & Experts”. In 2017 she got the IeOut LGBT Leadership Award.

Salvador Aragón

Professor of Information Systems at IE Business School
Salvador Aragón combines the practitioner and academic approaches to the world of business innovation. In his roles as Head of Innovation Officer and Professor of Information Systems and Innovation at IE Business School, he aims to provide a consistent response to the challenges, problems and opportunities of innovation within the company. From a research perspective, Salvador Aragón defines innovation as an intersection between market, organization and technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Innovation Governance and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and a bachelor in Industrial Engineering.

Patricia Gabaldón

Research Director in IE University and IE Business School
Dr. Patricia Gabaldón is currently Research Director in IE University and IE Business School, as well as professor of economics. PhD in Economics, she has developed her research career around the economic and social impact of time within households and personal decisions, dedicating the last years to study the impact of women in different economic and fields, in collaboration with the Centre for Diversity in Global Management at IE Business School, in Madrid (Spain).

Alba Vázquez

Executive Director IE Women Initiative Center for Diversity in Global Management
Award winning professional with over 20 years working experience in the commitment to internal and external customers. Academic credentials include an Executive Master in Communications at IE University and a BA in Linguistics. Education, tourism and arts are my main areas of professional development in English, Spanish and French entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Laura Rodríguez Arias

Assistant Director
Laura Rodríguez Arias is currently assistant to the Director at the IE Center for Diversity. She is also journalist and video editor. She has developed her professional career in several news media. Interested in social and international issues, she has studied and worked in France and Uruguay. She works coordinating the Center’s activities, and also develops its social media and community management
